Pav Bhaji is one of the popular street food in India where Bhaji is made from mixed vegetable with spices and herb and served with Pav (Dinner Rolls). I will add recipe of the Bhaji of Pav-Bhaji on a separate post.
Ladi Pav (Dinner Rolls)
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 Cups Milk warm
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 2 Tbsp Milk
- 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 Tbsp Instant Yeast
- 3 Cups Bread Flour or All Purpose Flour
- 1 Tbsp Butter melted
Instructions
- Whisk the warm milk, oil, sugar, and yeast together in the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. Leave it in a warm place for about 10-15 minutes or until it is all frothy and bubbly.
- To the yeast mixture, add salt and 2 cups flour. Mix on low speed for few seconds.
- Then add the remaining flour, 1/4 cup at a time. Beat on medium speed untill the dough comes together and pulls away from the sides of the bowl, about 2 minutes.
- Continue kneading dough either in a stand mixer or with your hand for further 4-5 mins.
- Grease a large bowl with oil and place the dough in the bowl, and make sure to coat all the sides with oil. Cover the bowl with clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap. Allow the dough to rise for about 2 hours or until double in size.
- Grease a 9" x 13" baking pan or a baking sheet
- When the dough is ready, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces, (maybe 10 or 14 depending on the size).
- Weight the dough and then divide into equal part. Shape each piece into a smooth ball and place it in the pan. Cover shaped rolls with a clean kitchen towel. Let them rise for about an hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350F. Brush the top of the bread very gently with milk and then bake them for ~18 mins or until the top is golden – brown.
- Remove from the oven and brushy the top with melted butter. Let it cool.
- Enjoy the warm bread with butter.
