Believe me when I say, birthdays and cakes are a match made in heaven. I think it always brings a smile to anyone’s face, when you see even a small piece of sweetness with a candle on the top, on your birthday.
My birthday was last month in December and who else would bake a cake for me then myself. I loved and enjoyed baking my own birthday cake, just the way I wanted it. My favorite is chocolate cake, but I wanted to make something different.
So, I made a butterscotch/caramel flavored moist cake, added a layer of butterscotch flavored buttercream frosting and a layer of butterscotch chocolate chips.
Covered the entire cake with the frosting and created a sugar sheet for decoration that had a beautiful peach color, with shiny golden edges. Topped it off with molding chocolate flowers using red and gold colors to enhance the look. I LOVED IT! It looked beautiful. This month, January, Jay’s birthday is coming up and yes, I will make a cake for him as well.
This cake looks amazing! I am not so big on baking but may have to start after seeing this:)
